Summary: Wise stores your email, the clothing photos you upload, and your outfit data. We use Pinterest OAuth so you can save outfits to your own Pinterest boards — we never store your Pinterest password. We do not sell your data, run advertising, or share your personal information with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the service.
1Who We Are
Wise ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered personal wardrobe assistant that helps users organize their clothing, receive outfit recommendations, and save their favorite looks to Pinterest. Wise is developed and operated by:
Isaac Gonzalez
Email: isaacus537@gmail.com
GitHub: github.com/Theisi1
The application is currently in beta and is intended for personal use by individuals who wish to digitize and manage their wardrobe.
2Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the service:
- Account information: Your email address and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text). Optionally: display name, profile bio, and profile photo.
- Clothing photos: Images you upload of individual garments. These are stored on our servers and processed locally using computer vision (CLIP model) to extract visual attributes such as color, style, material, and season. Your photos are not sent to external AI providers.
- Garment attributes: Structured data extracted from your clothing photos — category, color palette, style, material, season, and AI-generated embedding vectors. Used to power outfit recommendations.
- Outfit data: Outfits you generate, save, mark as worn, or share publicly. Includes your ratings (thumbs up/down) and outfit planning entries.
- Social interactions: Likes you give to community outfits, accounts you follow, and comments you post. These are visible to other users when you interact with public content.
- Style preferences: An anonymous preference vector derived from your in-app swipe behavior (likes/passes on outfit suggestions). This is stored as a numeric summary and is not linked to identifiable external profiles.
- Waitlist email: If you join the waitlist on our website, we store your email address solely to contact you about beta access and product updates. It is never sold or shared, and you can request deletion at any time by writing to the contact address below.
- Usage data: The app does not use analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies. No browsing history or device fingerprints are collected. Our public website uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly page-view counter that sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not track you across sites.
We do not collect: precise location data, device identifiers, phone contacts, payment information, or any data not explicitly listed above.
3How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate you securely.
- To analyze your garments using our locally-running computer vision model and generate personalized outfit recommendations.
- To display daily outfit suggestions matched to real weather data from OpenWeatherMap (weather queries use only your approximate location derived from the outfit occasion — no personal data is sent).
- To enable the Pinterest integration: when you choose to save an outfit to Pinterest, we use your Pinterest OAuth token to create a pin on the board you select.
- To power social features: sharing outfits publicly, following other users, and discovering community looks.
- To send stock imagery from Unsplash for garment replacement suggestions (only keyword strings — no personal data is shared with Unsplash).
We do not use your data for advertising, third-party profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the core service features described above.
4Pinterest Integration
Wise offers an optional Pinterest integration that allows you to save AI-generated outfit images directly to your Pinterest boards. This feature uses the official Pinterest OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. Wise never sees or stores your Pinterest password.
When you tap "Save to Pinterest" within the app, you are redirected to Pinterest's official login and authorization page. You explicitly choose which permissions to grant. After authorization, Pinterest provides Wise with an access token that is stored securely and used solely to interact with Pinterest on your behalf.
Permissions requested and why
user_accounts:read
Read your Pinterest username so the app can show which account is connected.
boards:read
Read your existing Pinterest boards so you can choose which board to save the outfit to.
boards:write
Create a new Pinterest board if you choose to save to a board that does not yet exist.
pins:read
Verify whether an outfit has already been saved to Pinterest to avoid duplicate pins.
pins:write
Create a new pin on the board you select, saving the outfit image and its title.
What Wise does NOT do with Pinterest access:
- We never read your Pinterest home feed, recommendations, or personal browsing activity.
- We never access your Pinterest messages, followers list, or account analytics.
- We never post to Pinterest without a direct, explicit action from you inside the app.
- We never share your Pinterest data with any other third party.
- We never store your Pinterest username, password, or personal profile information.
You can revoke Wise's access to your Pinterest account at any time by visiting pinterest.com/settings/security and removing Wise from your authorized apps. Revoking access will also invalidate the stored OAuth token on our side within 24 hours.
5Third-Party Services
Wise uses the following third-party services to deliver its features. Each service processes data strictly for the purpose described:
Wise uses Supabase as its database provider (PostgreSQL). Your account information, garment data, outfit records, and social interactions are stored in a Supabase-hosted database located in the US East region. Supabase processes this data solely to store and retrieve it on behalf of Wise. Supabase does not use your data for its own purposes.
The Pinterest API is used exclusively to save outfit images to boards you authorize, as described in Section 4 above. Pinterest receives only the outfit image and title at the moment you choose to save. No personal information from your Wise account is shared with Pinterest.
Used to retrieve current weather conditions for the "Outfit of the Day" feature. Wise sends a city name (not GPS coordinates) to the OpenWeatherMap API to fetch temperature and conditions. No personal data is included in weather requests.
Wise searches Unsplash for stock clothing images to offer as garment photo replacements (when your photo quality is low). Only keyword strings (e.g., "white cotton shirt") are sent to Unsplash — no personal data is included.
Note on AI processing: Garment photo analysis is performed entirely by a locally-running computer vision model (CLIP) on our own servers. Your clothing photos are not sent to any external AI API such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
6Data Storage and Security
- Your account data and garment attributes are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Supabase (US East region) with row-level security enabled.
- Clothing images are stored on the application server. They are not publicly accessible — access requires authentication via your account JWT token.
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
- Session authentication uses short-lived JWT tokens transmitted exclusively over HTTPS.
- Pinterest OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are used only to make authorized API calls on your behalf.
- We apply access controls and follow security best practices, including rate limiting on all API endpoints and protections against common vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is completely immune to risk. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to review the third-party apps connected to your Pinterest account periodically.
7Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:
- Account and garment data: Retained until you request deletion.
- Uploaded images: Retained on our servers until you delete the garment or request account deletion.
- Pinterest OAuth tokens: Retained until you disconnect Pinterest from within the app, or until Pinterest revokes the token. You can also revoke access directly from Pinterest's settings.
- Community content: Outfits you shared publicly may remain visible briefly after deletion due to caching, but will be permanently removed within 48 hours.
To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at isaacus537@gmail.com. Deletion will be completed within 30 days.

10International Data Transfers
Wise is operated from Ecuador and uses Supabase's US East region for data storage. If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Wise, you consent to this transfer. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active users by email where required by applicable law.
